Pays des Lacs – Ardennes Forests
The Maison du Tourisme Pays des Lacs, together with the Forêt du Pays de Chimay, is working with three forest areas (the Grande Forêt de Saint-Hubert, the Grande Forêt d’Anlier and the Forêt de la Semois et de la Houille) to strengthen and enhance the ‘forest’ tourism offering in a cross-cutting and innovative way as part of the Ardennes Forests joint project.
Summary of achievements :
- Positioning the Ardennes Forests as a walking and horse riding destination in its own right and strengthening the mountain biking offering to better meet current demand ;
- Offering a cross-cutting range of holidays/products throughout the Ardennes Forests, including intermodality (train, bus, cycling and walking) and making information accessible to meet this demand ;
- Developing all kinds of ‘sensory’ trails in connection with the forest (themed, immersive, cultural, artistic and fun trails) in order to reach the various target audiences and their centres of interest ;
- Developing communication tools to increase the visibility/profile of the Ardennes Forest tourist products and help tourists seeking specific information to prepare for their stay ;
- Ensuring the smooth running and implementation of initiatives to guarantee efficient coordination between the four forest areas through effective collaboration.
