To the south of the city is a complex of 5 lakes against the backdrop of wild and preserved countryside with features that are unique in Europe and make it a destination for leisure and relaxation. During the year, Charleroi offers activities for everyone. Do you want to get back to nature, practise a sport, enjoy an urban experience, discover heritage or taste local flavours? Le Pays de Charleroi
"It’s a land of contrasts where the landscapes mix and offset each other to create an unforgettable experience. Walk along the towpath of the Sambre river, at the heart of the industrial wasteland, surrounded by street art, then climb to the top of a slag heap, to admire the beautiful panorama across the city and the natural wealth of its hinterland. This is the diversity we want you to discover. We will do everything to welcome you and share our passion for a unique region."
